Yesterday, to finish off a lovely bank holiday weekend, myself and my mum decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea at Tankardstown House. We had heard plenty of good reviews from friends and family so we decided to treat ourselves and head over.
We booked in the day before and just a heads up, I was told that they always recommend to book a day or two before you go.
When we entered the tea rooms the decor was the first thing that struck me. It was absolutely beautiful. The tables were set with mis matched china and there were teacups hanging from the walls (if you know me at all, you’ll know that this is exactly my style!) We sat down and were greeted by our very friendly waitress who made our experience very calm and simple from start to finish.
We ordered some tea and coffee first..

Then the treats themselves were brought out. At the top was a selection of mini sandwiches, the middle layer was filled with sweet treats (my favourite layer!) and the bottom layer consisted of scones with jam, butter and cream..
The photographs alone are making me hungry just looking at them!!!!
The total cost for the two of us was €40 which I think was reasonable for the amount of food that we got. Don’t be fooled like I was and think that your bellies are not going to be full when you leave. Mam practically had to roll me out the gate!
I’d definitely recommend taking the trip over to see them soon. With the weather being as nice as it is at the minute it definitely is a lovely treat!
